Dell iDRAC SNMP to Prometheus

Our company have quite a few Dell servers and Dell chassis and I want to send all the system events and snmp events to Prometheus and then send it to Grafana so everything can be monitored on one place.

 

I do get the normal metrics form Linux machines in Prometheus. So that works.

 

What I don’t get is to capture snmp events from Dell iDRAC in Prometheus.
I tried all I knew and that I read on the internet but without any success.

 

 

Any help/suggestions welcome.

Prometheus doesn't handle events.

To capture those you'd want a system like Elasticsearch. Prometheus can
poll the devices via SNMP for metrics via the SNMP Exporter.
