How to connect a simple REST API to Prometheus

Hello all,

I am new to Prometheus. I need to learn how to configure Prometheus, therefore I setup Prometheus and Grafana locally using docker-compose. Then I wrote a simple REST API that display some text on the browser. Now, I would like to connect this API to Prometheus. Could you please point me out to the document on how to do this? Thank you very much in advance. Here is my simple project:

A very easy way is to use https://github.com/prometheus/blackbox_exporter

> The blackbox exporter allows blackbox probing of endpoints over HTTP,
HTTPS, DNS, TCP and ICMP.

We included lots of RESTful APIs in our blackbox config
