How to upgrade a running prometheus server properly?

Hi,

I have send the SIGTERM to the process, but prometheus will in 'Service Unavailable' for very long time. 

Is that the right way?

Finally, I found that the PaaS will send 'kill -9' to the process when they think its timed out.
