I am evaluating integrating Thanos [1] with our Prometheus clusters. The Thanos documentation states: "The --storage.tsdb.min-block-duration and --storage.tsdb.max-block-duration must be set to equal values. The default of 2h is recommended." [2]
We don't currently set those flags for our Prometheus instances. Are there any issues with adding these flags for an existing production Prometheus instance, or removing the flags after they have been added? I see recommendations in the Prometheus issue tracker against adjusting those flags. [3][4] We are using --storage.tsdb.retention=720h.
