Prometheus cant see pods in /targets

What did you do?
Deploy prometheus with helm using the stable repository at: stable/prometheus

What did you expect to see?
Pods in /targets prometheus UI

What did you see instead? Under which circumstances?
I cant see pods in /targets , using jobs defined by default in values.yaml

I can see, kubernetes-apiservers, kubernetes-nodes, kubernetes-service-endpoints, prometheus and prometheus-pushgateway and NOT PODS
Whats happend with this?

Hi,
Did you find the reason for this and more important how to fix it? I've got the same issue - there's a Prometheus deployment, but there are no pods.

ok, so, I deploy prometheus with helm with custom values for each prometheus component stored in values.yaml.


Using this chart and my values: helm install -f values.yaml stable/prometheus or if you want install on a custom namespace: helm install -f values.yaml stable/prometheus --namespace mynamespace

This will deploy the following prometheus components:

1. prometheus-alertmanager
2. prometheus-kube-state-metrics (for more metrics than cadvisor)
3. prometheus-node-exporter (one pod per node that you have)
4. prometheus-pushgateway
5  prometheus-server

Take in mind that before deploy and in values.yaml I have the scrape config configured as follow:

Note that in kubernetes-services job I have a custom blackbox exporter that exports metrics about the services that I have (target right port, etc).
Take in mind that node-exporter pod will try to deploy in a master node too, kubernetes master by default does not tolerate the scheduled of pods due to taints, If you have taint in the master with NoSchedule you need to put tolerations labels in values.yaml.
