prometheus_tsdb_head_series in 2.0 vs prometheus_local_storage_memory_series in 1.8

What is the difference between these two metrics. Is prometheus_tsdb_head_series in 2.0 replacement for prometheus_local_storage_memory_series in 1.8?

I would say, the closest match to prometheus_tsdb_head_series in 2.0
is prometheus_local_storage_open_head_chunks in 1.8. But it's not the
same. Nothing is the same in the storage layer…

With the mmap approach of 2.0, a notion of in-memory series doesn't
really make sense anymore. So there is no equivalent to
prometheus_local_storage_memory_series in 2.0
