Prometheus Monitoring use cases

Hello, 

i am trying to find alternative to my current monitoring system , a mix of system monitoring tools like SCOM, ca eHealth etc, and Application performance tool like AppDynamics , ca Wily etc logging tools like Splunk eleatic search etc. i  am trying to find use cases or feedback from prometheus users who have deployed in their org and how it has benefited as a microservice. Can you please share your insights.

Hi Ritesh,

You can find a number of case studies by users in the Prometheus blog: https://prometheus.io/blog/ (all the posts starting with "Interview with ...").

Prometheus is good exactly for multi-dimensional numeric time series monitoring. For tracing and logging, you will still want to use other tools (such as or ZipKin or ElasticSearch). But when working for a while with Prometheus, it's surprising how many use cases can be made to fit the time-series data model.

Thanks for the info. 

any guidelines on how can i start buidling a proof of concept which covers windows, unix, storage, file  (OS & it related )monitoring and application level monitoring, database monitoring etc.
