how to debug "no token found"?

I have some metrics from blackbox exporter https://gist.github.com/sandsu/f7fda91d287e5b4291d5f99172e51cce and i got msg="append failed" err="no token found" from scraper.

i tried to use promtool check but the output was blank.

how can i debug this?

I am having the exact same issue, promtool doesnt report any errors, and the prometheus targets page shows: No token found 

Also, in my case I am haven't yet defined any custom metrics, its just the very primitive ones that come from golang client. I am able to curl and see the metrics present. Not sure how to proceed further, can someone please help?
