Hello experts, My use case includes working on clusters. We are running Prometheus only on the master node. We are calculating the expected RAM of a master node based upon the number of workers we have. We are running Prometheus in a docker container. We want to make the expected RAM allocated to the Prometheus container proportional to the RAM of the master node. Is there a way to achieve this in Prometheus? Moreover, is there any calculation done before for the workaround.

Thank you!!

You'll need to measure it for your usage case, and it changes from release to release, but you can get a first estimate of the lower bound here:

I'd be inclined to double it or add 4GB, and then see how it performs in practice.

Please be patient. Lots of Prometheus development happens in people's
free time. Support is also provided by volunteers.

Besides, Brian Candler even replied to your question before you sent
your reminder. :)

Kind regards,
Christian
