Hi everyone, this is just a friendly reminder that Prometheus has this "Contributor Office Hours" initiative happening every week :) I'm attending almost every week, but it looks like the idea was not spread enough. So I wanted to share why this initiative is so important.

* Async communication is key for remote work and open-source, but having that sync call once a week can accelerate so much our contributions. Before this initiative, I was stuck on an issue for literally 3 months. Solved in two 20 min calls :P
* Currently, I'm working on a design doc. I'm a pretty recent contributor, so I'm not sure about all the existing possibilities for the problem I'm trying to solve. The sync call is helping a lot to get this doc into a nice shape.
* If you have unreviewed PRs, issues, or design documents, if you've never contributed and want to get started, or if you are stuck on something. Just attend the office hours, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
* The maintainers are super friendly and are a bunch of talented people when talking about Software Engineering

Let's abuse those office hours not only to contribute to the project but to become better engineers ourselves.

More information can be seen in the document that Bartek shared in the first email :)

King Regards,
Arthur

Hello Prometheus Dev Community!

Slight improvement to the Contributor Hours: We decided to alternate between timezones on weekly basis to improve inclusiveness! (:

We will be now meeting weekly as before, but with one week slot being 10 UTC, next week being 17 UTC and so on, starting from next week with EU slot!

Feel free to suggest agenda items if you want to get unblocked, want to start contributing more or just have ideas to improve Prometheus! Trust us: There is nothing better in remote, covid impacted work than some pair-reviews and on-video collaboration!

See you there! 🤗

Kind Regards,
