no data in expression browser

I'm running prometheus-0.18.0 in 2 different VMs with the default prometheus.yml.

One of them (sles12) returns 'no data' for every metric in the expression browser, such as, http_request_duration_microseconds. In the other VM (sles12 SP1), the same metric returns value properly.

I tried binary and docker hub images. Both work in the same way. It's not container related.

In the first VM (returning 'no data'), I find data stored (at prometheus-0.18.0.linux-amd64/data) and, if I use datasource in grafana, the metric values return properly. The only problem is with the expression browser.

I tried to change log.level to debug, but there is no additional information. Also, I tried to play with proxy and permissions, but no luck.

Do you have any recommendation? Anything to help me to troubleshoot the issue?

Thanks,
Fabiana

What do you see if you look at the query requests in your browser's developer console?

I'd suspect some very odd network issue.

Also ensure that the time / timezone are all correct on the involved hosts (including your browser's).
