Prometheus Dynamic Exporter

Hi guys,

I just want to introduce my new dynamic Prometheus custom metric exporter.

It's capable of reading custom metrics from simple textfiles and then instantly serve them via https and basic auth.

Would be happy if somebody finds it useful.

Cool project! Out of interest, what would you say are the benefits of this over something like the Node Exporter Textfile Collector (https://github.com/prometheus/node_exporter#textfile-collector), or the Prometheus Push Gateway?

Hi Colin,

well..... this is embarrassing.... :-)
I was not aware of "textfile collector" existing already.

Today I've just added a ttl feature to ensure a broken batch job will not produce the same metrics forever. Dont know if the Textfile Collector has something similar.

Apart from that - you're right. It does basically the same thing.
The SSL encrytpion and basic auth would be a benefit.

that's no problem at all. You had a lot of fun developing and learned a
