https://github.com/prometheus/influxdb_exporter is probably what you're looking for.

Thanks

Hi Brian,

We are looking for influxdb to prometheus no prometheus to influxdb.

We have the data in influxdb and we are looking for a solution to export data to prometheus and config our alert system in prometheus.

Thanks

Lorena

Hello Richard and Brian,

Thank you for your quick reply.

We are using cadvisor as colletor instead of telegraf; we'd like to put all metrics from cadvisor to influxdb and then Prometheus reads these metrics for alerting.

Using influxdb_exporter, If I understood, we need to configure cadvisor to send metrics to influxdb_exporter, and not influxdb, loosing influxdb as persistence system for metrics.

Any suggestion?

Thank you very much in advance

Can you configure Prometheus to scrape cAdvisor directly? That's usually the recommendation, as cAdvisor has native Prometheus metrics. That would be a more reliable way of doing alerting, as you don't have the InfluxDB step in the middle and thus fewer pieces that can break.

I'm not aware of something that sends existing metrics from InfluxDB to Prometheus (and that would be kind of awkward, because Prometheus only pulls and cannot be pushed to).

Hello Julius,

Therefore, that's the only way.

Thank you
