Collecting ideas for Prometheus 3.0

Hi folks,

I would like to propose that we start working towards Prometheus 3.0 at the upcoming dev summit. As part of this effort, I am collecting all the major and minor breaking changes that we want to make and I would love your ideas as well.

Please try to only submit breaking changes, or previously controversial proposals, but not ideas that can be seamlessly integrated into Prometheus 2.0. If in doubt, please add your proposal so we can triage it!
