Hi,

Is there an oracle db exporter available? If not can someone point out how can one be built?

Regards
Ashish

It highly depends on how Oracle provides metrics.  MySQL, for example, provides metrics via a number of special SQL commands, and internal tables.

If Oracle is similar, take a look at the mysqld_exporter.

If you can get your metrics via queries, there's this

https://github.com/chop-dbhi/prometheus-sql

The underlying agent claims to work with Oracle

https://github.com/chop-dbhi/sql-agent

I'm planning to implement this myself next week for Azure SQL where I don't have access to the server itself.

This Post is already one year old but it looks unsolved to me.

I'm currently working on an Oracle exporter. There is already one (https://github.com/iamseth/oracledb_exporter) but it does not exactly include what I as Oracle Database Speciallist would want to monitor.

I try to release a beta version by end of March 2017.

Suggestions for metrics are welcome and very much appreciated! Just open an issue at my github repo: https://github.com/odbaeu/oracle_exporter

Prometheus is a great project but I cannot visualize information as I would like to. The gui graphana does not suit to a lot of things I'd like to display. Maybe I'll continue later. For the time being you can use https://github.com/iamseth/oracledb_exporter to monitor Oracle Databases.

Hi,

I have been working on this for a while: https://github.com/tjheslin1/Patterdale

It's actively supported to feel free to raise in Issues or PR's.
