Hello everyone,

I’m thrilled to announce a well-deserved update regarding our Alertmanager project. Over the past year, George has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment and deep expertise, becoming a true pillar of our community. 

His contributions have been wide-ranging, from meticulously triaging issues and ensuring that bug reports are addressed promptly, to delivering major enhancements like the implementation of comprehensive UTF-8 support; These have set a high standard for community engagement and technical excellence.

Given his significant contributions and his ability to collaborate effectively with others, I’m pleased to officially welcome George as a maintainer for the Alertmanager project.
