Prometheus v2.40.0-rc0 is available

Hello everyone,

Prometheus v2.40.0-rc.0, the first release candidate, is now available to test.

This is a very exciting release that comes with support for native histograms. The changelog/release notes describe how to enable and use this feature.

This release also adds a new service discovery for OVHcloud.
