Different IP addresses

Using my router set to DHCP, I get an address of 24.115.*.* Get out on the
internet no problem. I can't seem to host any games though.

So I figure I have something set wrong with my router, remove it and attach
my computer directly to the cable modem. Get a different address 70.55.*.*
Get out on the internet just fine but I still can't host a game.
Can anyone shed some light on why I'm getting such different IP addresses in
the same location? I've tried it on several different days and get different
addresses in the same ranges depending on if I'm using the router or not.
Any ideas? I'd like to be able to host a game of Age Of Empires 2 once in
awhile.

The ip is linked to the mac address of the device. i believe prolog
still gives out 2 public ips. That would be why your pc gives you a
different ip. As far as the game is concerned make sure the port is
forwarded on your router and also make sure no firewall is blocking it.

I have my computer in the DMZ of the router, so there should be no blocking.
I've tried turning my firewall off, making exceptions for the program,
nothing seems to work.
