I was happy and thrilled.
That was short lived.
Before the so called upgrade I was averaging between 2.7 and 2.9 Mb
and occasionally got a 3.1 Mb connection.
This past week I noticed a difference.
Pages weren't as fast. So I did some speed tests using 4 different
sites during a 5 night span.
Wow!!!!!!!
A whopping 1.7 to 2.1 Mb connection average.
That's a far cry from the supposed upgraded 5 Mb that Prolog said I
will be getting.
And it's 30% lower then my original 3 Mb connection.
Bet I know what PTD did.
When they had the 3, 5 and 10 Mb customers they had the 3 Mb line on
it's own hub.
When they updated us they took the whole bunch of us and put us all on
one hub with the pre-existing 5 Mb customers. Now we have to compete
with more customers for a limited amount of total bandwidth alloted to
that hub.
Just another story of a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Your getting an upgrade for free!
But are you gonna use vaseline this time?
