Someone actually called me from PTD last week before all these
worthless messages started and told me I had an infected system. That
is not possible since I only use eComStation for sending mail and
there are no viruses, worms or other exploits for OS/2 which is the
operating system that eCS is based on. My daughter uses Mac OSX but
she does not send or receive mail through PTD's mail server. Also
there are very few exploits on the Mac and from what I have read none
are viruses. We don't use windows. Its unfortunate that anyone does.

Maybe they were trying something out and dropped it. Yes I've been
getting some of those, but they are worthless on my eComStation
machine, so there is no way I can be sending anyone viruses unless I
forward a received post that has one attached. I don't do that. A
new ploy I see is to just put a link to a windows EXE in an phishing
type email. I guess there are some people stupid enough to click on
anything. I did get a post from ptd saying "At present time,
PenTeleData has not received any additional reports traced to your
account. To prevent future problems, please remember to keep your
anti-virus program updated as well as your windows updates." That
certainly gives me warm fuzzy feeling. Obviously they never noted my
comment that I don't run windoze here.
