Lifers,
Thanks for being at the meeting this week! We got a lot done and
we're really excited about SILENT NO MORE next month! Look for the
facebook ad because it'll be up and running March 30th til the event!
Also, mark attending on the facebook event (which you can find on the
Pro-Life Alliance page).

TOMORROW: Come table at the FIRST AMENDMENT FAIR. It's a chance to
voice the Pro-life position w/o opposition. Students who recieve
free food, lose there "free speech" rights and have to interact with
different groups tabling without "free speech."

Meet in the Plaza at 11:50 if you want to help set up. 407-473-5679.

Have a wonderful weekend and be contacting profs, friends, churches,
etc. about SILENT NO MORE.

Below is INFO about OFFICER POSITIONS from the PLA Constitution:

Officers

Officers shall consist of the President(s), Vice President/Secretary
and Treasurer. All officers shall be members in good standing, shall
be full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate students at UF,
shall be elected by simple majority of voting members and shall serve
for an academic year, or until he or she resigns, or is removed, or is
otherwise disqualified to serve, which ever comes first. Officers may
be re-elected to an unlimited number of terms. Officers of Pro-Life
Alliance and their corresponding duties are:

President(s): The President(s) shall be chief executive officer of the
organization and shall supervise and control the affairs of the
organization and the activities of the officers. He or she shall
perform all duties incident to the office and such other duties as may
be required by the Articles of this Constitution, or by the bylaws, or
which may be prescribed from time to time by a simple majority of the
voting membership. The President(s) shall (1) preside at all meetings
of the organization; (2)plan meeting topics, and delegate and oversee
administrative affairs; (3) plan a schedule of events for each
semester he or she is in office, including, but not limited to
fundraisers, campus displays, protests, and conferences; (4) take
necessary action to ensure that all officers have fulfilled their
duties, or, in the event of an officer being unable to fulfill his or
her duty, shall find a replacement for that officer. (5) It is the
duty of the president to know, protect, and enforce all regulations
stated in this constitution, for the purpose of preserving the
organization, fulfilling its purpose, and respecting its members.
Vice President: The Vice President shall assist the president in the
affairs of the organization, and shall take on presidential duties
during the absence of the president. The Vice-President shall oversee
the use of all the organization’s space on campus, including but not
limited to managing the cubicle, reserving tables for tabling,
reserving space for events, and obtaining rooms for the meetings. He
or she should participate in planning fundraisers with the
President(s) and Treasurer.

Secretary: The Secretary will take the minutes of both officer
meetings and General Assembly meetings, and will handle all the
correspondence of the organization. Correspondence includes sending
weekly emails through a listserv; collecting and creating updated
phone/email lists of members and adding those who signed up at the
literature table; and sending thank-you cards. He or she will
coordinate social events.

Treasurer: The treasurer will pay all debts that the organization may
incur for its expenses. (1) Will deposit all funds in the name of the
organization in such accounts as shall be designated by the officers,
consistent with the rules and regulations governing organizations
operating on the UF campus. (2) Receive, or cause to be received,
moneys due and payable to the organization from any properly
designated source. Assist the President and Vice President in
planning yearly fundraisers. (3) Disburse, or cause to be disbursed
the funds of the organization as may be directed by the officers,
taking proper voucher for such disbursement. (4) Keep and maintain
adequate records of accounts of liabilities, receipts or

that all available money is requested and used in a timely manner.
(5) Exhibit at all reasonable times the books of account and financial
records to any officer of the organization, or to his or her agent or
attorney upon request. Give a monthly financial report to the club if
requested. (6) In general, perform all duties of the office of
treasurer, and such other duties as may be required by law, by the
Articles of the Constitution, by the bylaws or by a simple majority of
the voting membership.

All officers, in order to keep their positions, must not miss more
than 5 officer meetings and 5 General Assembly meetings during the
course of an academic year.
