All,
I hope that this e-mail reaches as many people as
possible so please pass it on to everyone you know.
As many
people have already seen there currently an e-mail circulating
about the owners of Arabesque Restaurant in Elsternwick (next door to
the Pound ). The claim that they are anti-semitic, written by a past
staff member IS ENTIRELY
UNTRUE in my opinion. For over three years
we have been neighbours and friends and I have no indication from them
that they are in any way biased against Jews. To the contrary I have
found them to be friendly and respecting to me, my family and other
jewish people that they know. Their business has a very large Jewish
component and they are very grateful for their support.
The claim against
them is serious one, and has the potential to be extremely damaging the
their business and their families. I urge everyone not to judge their
attitude on the basis of the claim made in the e-mail. It is not fair
that the thoughts of one person ( with their own interests - whom
by the way worked for the owners for 3 years on and off !) should have
such detrimental ramifications if the claims are in fact not
true.
As well as being decent, humble and good people the
food at their restaurant is fantastic and has been enjoyed by me and my
family many times. If you have gone to their restaurant in the past
I urge you not to stop on the basis of the
e-mail.
