As you are no doubt well aware, our community, together with Israel and Jewish communities around the world will be commemorating Yom Hazikaron this coming Sunday evening – 18 April, 2010.
The commemoration will take place at the Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash Clayton, commencing at 6.45pm. DOORS OPEN AT 6.00pm. Chaired by Rabbi James Kennard, the gathering will be addressed by the Ambassador of Israel, Yuval Rotem. Admission is free at the door, and the commemoration will conclude at 8pm, and be followed by Erev Shirei Zikaron in the same venue.
Yom Ha’atzmaut – Israel’s 62nd Independence Day, will be celebrated on Monday 19 April, 2010 at Hamer Hall, the Arts Centre. I hope you’ve already booked your tickets!
It will be a brilliant concert, featuring talented musicians, singers and dancers performing traditional and contemporary favourites. It will be an uplifting event, and more importantly, a chance for our community to unite in support and solidarity of Israel. The concert commences at 7.45pm – tickets are available from the Arts Centre (internet, phone or in person) and will also be available at the box office on the night.
Can you please encourage your families and friends to show their support and solidarity for Israel and our community, and attend both events.
Best regards and Shabbat Shalom
Ginette
