I am currently looking for a "Oracle PL/SQL Developer" position with our client, which is a Fortune 50 company based in Cupertino. 

They are the largest and most valuable consumer electronics company in the world today which makes cutting edge smart phones, personal computers & music players. 

 

This is a 12months contract assignment with the possibility of extensions, the location would be Elk Grove, CA.

Below is the detailed Job description:

 

Essential Functions:

Will be responsible for handling large amounts of data, understanding, designing and troubleshooting complex systems to move and provide data to our end users. You'll be responsible for ensuring our applications have access to the data they need, in the timeframe they need it. Will monitor, tune and troubleshoot existing data pipelines and be a critical member of a team that designs and implements new solutions for providing data sources. Will work closely with our DBA team as well as our Applications team, and must be able to speak DBA and Java fluently. You'll be the DBA's and the Applications Developers best friend and must understand what they need, their environment and concerns. You'll also work with the infrastructure team and support teams and must be able to translate our teams requirements to them and understand what they need from us. Should have exposure to upper management and must be comfortable communicating up and down the food chain. You'll have exposure to our business partners and must be able to understand the data and what it means to the business. As part of a small team, you'll wear many hats and must be able to take a project from start to finish, driving requirements clarifications, design, development, testing and deployment. You must be able to prioritize your project work while handling support request and monitoring of existing systems. There is a possibility of travel involved and scheduling flexibility is needed.

Skills and Experience:

      •  Extensive experience with data movement, loading and transformation logic in large-scale multi terabyte Linux systems.

• ETL design and development experience is a must.
• Must have excellent data modeling skills in warehousing and transaction systems.
• Experience with very large data sets (100s of billions of records), in high rate (tens of millions of transactions/hour) 
  experience is a must. 
• Must be able to troubleshoot database performance, data quality, data model and process problems independently. 
• Must be able to consider scalability, reliability, usability and maintenance of design in a thorough and evidence 
  based methodology. 
• Guru level knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. 
• Experience with Oracle Exadata is required. 
• Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) highly desirable. 
• Experience with Java is highly desirable. 
• ELT technologies and Oracle Golden Gate experience desirable 
• Experience with high tech manufacturing industry highly desirable. 
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication (English) and be able to describe complex scenarios to 
  management as well as other developers.

Leadership: 

• Will be influencing architectural decisions and driving detailed implementations. 
• Will be serving as tier 3 support and coaching the tier 2 and 1 staff. 
• Will be coaching your teammates in the latest technologies, techniques and implementations. 
• Will lead by example by creating and adhering to standards to maintain environmental, coding and maintenance 
  consistency. 
• Will be required to represent the R&D Team while on project meetings. 

Profile: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering (preferred) or related field or equivalent experience. 

• At least 6 years experience of developing scalable transaction and warehouse solutions.
• At least 2 years of experience with Java and JEE technologies is a plus.
• Must be a fast learner and willing to adapt. 
• Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice. • Must be a team player.
• Experience with a global company and virtual teams is required.
• Role will interact with team members around the globe, scheduling flexibility is required, as is travel.
