Dear KAPM members,
As we welcome the New Year, we wish to commend you for remaining steadfast to the KAPM course. Our organizational impact is evident in the fact that we were invited as the lead national association for project managers by the Cabinet Secretary, Infrastructure, Eng Michael Kamau, for the official launch of the mega railway project. In addition, we were networked with the Government of South Sudan by one of us, Eng Theuri both to aid in deployment of human resources and advisory services as well – we pray for the peace of South Sudan. Further, we were invited by Laptrust for the launch of their project management training courtesy of one of our board members, Ken Kibhuko. Moreover, we were formally invited by Dr. Machuka, the Director in charge of national monitoring and evaluation directorate to the national M&E conference. Indeed, the director not only wrote to us but personally followed with me on phone to guarantee our presence. No less than 20 members have admitted to us that our membership certificates have played a significant role in various interviews. Our tentacles have transcended almost all institutions of higher learning as members continue to trickle in from various universities. That our influence is being felt across the public, private and NGO sectors is undeniable. In this spirit, kindly find attached the annual calendar of events for the KAPM board and kindly submit your suggestions towards the development of our 3-year strategic plan that is underway. Also note that as part of our finance strategy besides the noble duty of capacity building the nation in project management, we are rolling out a training program scheduled to take place through 4 public seminars in project management in 2014. Your ideas are highly valued and please liaise with the relevant board member(s) on how you can be engaged on such undertakings. Finally, please pay up your annual subscription fees as you undoubtedly know the monies go directly towards the administrative costs of KAPM. On this note, I may wish to inform you that ALL board members including Prof Gakuu (the patron) and Dr. Nyonje (The Chief Editor) have contributed 25,000 over and above their normal annual subscriptions to keep KAPM afloat in its formative stages – this is besides a cumulative sacrificial giving by board members of 140K for setting up the KAPM offices at a convenient locality. Although we anticipate to eventually pay back these internal debts to be fair to board members, you will certainly agree with me that KAPM board members have sacrificially led from the front. I therefore appeal you kindly pay up your annual subscriptions of KES 5,000 by 31st Jan 2014 and as we elect new officials in August this year to spearhead the organization for the next 3 years, be on the on-look for visionary servant-hood leadership.
