Job Title: VMware ESXi and vSAN Administrator/Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled VMware ESXi and vSAN Administrator/Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our VMware virtualization environment, including ESXi hypervisors and vSAN storage solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our virtual infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain VMware ESXi hypervisors in a virtualized environment.
Administer and monitor virtual machines (VMs), templates, and snapshots, ensuring efficient provisioning and management.
Optimize ESXi host performance, resource allocation, and capacity planning.
Manage and maintain VMware vCenter Server and associated components.
Implement and manage VMware vSAN storage solutions, ensuring data availability and performance.
Develop and execute data protection and disaster recovery strategies for virtualized workloads.
Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to gather requirements and deliver virtualization solutions.
Enforce security policies and access controls within the virtual environment.
Automate repetitive tasks and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Provide on-call support and actively participate in resolving critical incidents.
Stay up-to-date with VMware technologies and industry best practices to propose and implement improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification in Data Center Virtualization (DCV) is highly preferred.
Proven experience in VMware ESXi and vSAN administration and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of virtualization technologies, particularly VMware vSphere.
Familiarity with storage technologies and experience with SAN/NAS solutions.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell, PowerCLI, or Python.
Experience with cloud integration and hybrid cloud solutions is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
Capacity to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
