Hello, Friends of Project Everlast!
I hope this finds you safe and warm on this blustery day. Attached is a Housing Resource Guide that details programs that were present at the November, 2010 Housing Resource Fair sponsored by the Metro Area Continuum of Care for the Homeless. As we all know far too well, homelessness and near-homelessness is a significant barrier for youth who have recently transitioned from foster care. According to Project Everlast’s data collection efforts, 37% of youth surveyed have couch surfed because they didn’t have anywhere to live and 28% have stayed in a homeless shelter.
Project Everlast is currently working with partners to increase options for our young people. Be on the lookout for updates coming soon!
Thank you for all you do to improve the lives of youth in foster care and alumni.
Warm regards,
Rosey Higgs, MSW
