Hey team,

I put a early version of the database schema in the dropbox.  Give a quick look if you get the chance and let me know what you think.

The arrows represent a one to many relationship.  The pointy end of the arrow represents the 'many' part of the relationship.

Hey Steve,

That looks pretty good to me, and I'm no expert but I'd say good job! I think I've finished up my "article.html" and its in the dropbox, even got a jQuery function working for the side accordion. Take a look if you'd like and let me know if there's anything else that needs to be done by tomorrow night. Thanks!

Chris

Thanks guys,  I'm quite proud :-p

Chris, that's one fine looking article page!

Couple small changes to keep the pages looking similar and it'll be perfect:

1. Drop the word cloud down so it's even with the article.
2. Add a bit of space between the word cloud and the accordion 25px or so
3. Add a "show more" link to each of the sections below the article.
4. Place the breadcrumb navigation in a 'nav' tag.

I was going to say you might want to structure the 'article' tag differently but now that I've been on html5 doctor, I'm not so sure.  html5 is confusing. Maybe put the stuff below the article 45 in an aside???

Looks great!

Colin:  Can you send out a measurement for your search bar header area?  We should probably keep that space a consistent size across the pages.

Cheers,
Steve

Hey all,

Here's some of the measurements for the search bar header area.

search container (#search)
margin from header is 75px

search textbox (#txt_search)
400px wide
spaced 10px from search button

search bar (#bsc_search)
margin from top 25px

advanced search checkbox (#adv_option)
margin-top (from the search bar) 12px;
padding-right 325px;

cumulus logo (#search_logo)
padding-right from text 50px
margin from top 50

The width of the entire section is not set, but it is roughly 663px wide, centered on the page.

Thanks colin,

I'm just working on a responsive layout for the homepage right now.  I'll update everyone as soon as it's done.  I had to redo some of the structure of the header so we'll keep the responsive stuff separate from what we've got so far.  Don't want to break anything!

Sounds good!  I can sympathize.  Sooo many things due.

If you include

<script src="http://use.edgefonts.net/arvo.js"></script>

in the header of profile.html you can use the Arvo font for your menu items, etc by defining 'font-family: arvo, serif;'

Cheers,

Looks good Nnabugwu, all the parts are there and we can always refine the styling later on in the process. My only concern really is the space between the header and the search bar/profile stuff below. It seems like there should be something in between there, maybe you could just incorporate the logo and make the search bar a little bit more evenly spaced between. Other than that it looks great!

looks good Nnabugwu.  Do you have time to add in the Arvo font for the headers and navigation?

I'm just wrestling with some media-queries for the responsive stuff.  I'll send everything out in an hour.

Oh and Colin, I was talking to Adam about the site last night and we found an AWESOME use for adding 'Tags'.  I'll tell you about it tomorrow or tuesday.
