Hi Trevor,
For a few vehicles, we’ve had this kind of information available in the corresponding subdirectories of the data/ directory (e.g., this one for the HMMWV model).
After you posted your message, we added a few more for other vehicles. I have also compiled this information in another file this time in the source directory of the Chrono::Vehicle models library.
While we’re on the subject of data used in all these Chrono models, it is important to mention that we must ensure we only use information that is freely available and compatible with the BSD-3 Chrono license. This is also part of the reason why the Chrono::Vehicle models library contains quite a few “exotic” vehicles. If a vehicle is not listed there, this means that the data it uses is synthetic and just reasonable for that particular type of vehicle.
It would be great if you (or anyone else on this forum) can provide better data for any of the existing models, or else provide a full set of JSON specification files for a new model (as long as you provide the data sources and ensure they are appropriate for inclusion in an open-source, BSD-licensed package such as Chrono).
Best,
Radu
