Hi Zed,
First, the code in the ‘main’ branch of the Chrono repository is *not* the same as the one in release 8.0. There were quite a few additions, fixes, modifications. In fact, the Chrono::VSG module was added after the 8.0 release. You can see the main changes made since the last release in the CHANGELOG file.
Regarding your problems with incompatibilities between the current Chrono::VSG code and its VSG dependencies, the solution is to use the scripts we provide for building and installing the various VSG libraries, instead of vsgFramework. Pull the latest code in the ‘main’ branch and see the updated installation page at https://api.projectchrono.org/module_vsg_installation.html. In particular, use the approach #2 (“VSG build scripts”). The latest version of these utility scripts use the VSG library versions that Rainer listed below which are compatible with the current Chrono::VSG.

Hi Zed,
I guess you have built vsg on 2023-07-26. Vsg is still under development and its api has changed last week. Unfortunately the vsg changes break the chrono_vsg builds. Radu wants to supply a work around based on the last compatible vsg version, when he is back from travel. Actually I am working on an updated chrono_vsg version, but it is actually not complete and needs testing.
If you want to make a manual installation of vsg (not with vsgFramework!), you can try this combination of libraries:
