I am trying to run simulations using as accurate information about terrain types as I can, which includes modifying Rigid Terrain json files using information like coefficient of friction and Young's Modulus. Specifically for the latter, I am trying to figure out what units Project Chrono uses for the Young's Modulus in order to accurately portray different types of interactions. I couldn't find it while roaming through the documentation, is there any information on what the units of measurement is for the Young's Modulus in Project Chrono?

Jack – Chrono doesn’t use a particular system of units.

The units are up to the user. Once you decide which units you want to use, then express all the constants using that set of units. Stay consistent.

Also, as a sanity check, once you think you got it, run a simple test to confirm that the results look good. Then go back to the actual problem you care about.

One clarification: while Dan is correct that Chrono does not impose a particular set of units, that is *not* the case for Chrono::Vehicle.  Everything in Chrono::Vehicle, including RigidTerrain, assumes SI units.  As such, Young’s modulus is assumed to be provided in Pa.
