Yes, I know that I'm new to the place, but Damon told me I could contribute to the wiki since I was giving constructive points to the project. I really like what is being made so far, and while I can criticize some parts of the project, it's better for me to be a part of team rather than speaking my mind over every bit I disliked. Though there were some things that bothered me with the story, but I won't get into it.

While new races like the Lurg, the Baul and the Nnngn are being written, the only race that is left out so far is the FleeingRace (and the SlaveRace and MasterRace, though I don't know what the deal is with those two), as there is little info about them. They seem to be a good contribution to the story, so that's why I'm jumping in to add more detail. I also considered into naming these guys the Snellopy, as it fits with the races personality, though one of them suggested the Mali.

The info below is some basic notes and thoughts about them. If you want, you can modify/change/drop/add/ anything to the race if you wish. I will also add in more stuff if I get the chance later on.

Race Description:
The Snellopy are a race of cute-looking aliens who are incredibly sensitive to the unnatural distortions and movements in space. While this quality can be considered a blessing to those who want to keep the galaxy safe, the Snellopy view is as a living nightmare; a curse that can never be resolved. This is partly due that while they can pick up what is happening, they can't understand what they are sensing, even top-notch experts and the technology they have cannot fathom what they are picking up. To them, they see something incredibly alien and they don't know whenever it's a warning or something playing with their minds. Not to mention, once something is noticed, it lasts for a long time, or perhaps forever until it ceases or something happens to the galaxy. They are a simple-minded folk, and this trait sadly contributed to them being tarnished by the paranoia and they had to endure the pain constantly.

Race Design
: I kinda imagined them looking like a cliched, cartoonish alien you see in TV shows, comics or whatnot. They are NOT based on the Little Green Men, but they share the same basic idea as the Spathi, who were based on the one-eyed green slug creature. I don't have Photoshop, but maybe I can share some concept designs. One idea that came to me that they can look or share similar traits like the Bleepers from Kipper the Dog (I know, a weird source), or possibly an experiment from Lilo and Stitch. If the cartoony alien concept is rejected, then they can be based on some obscure animal, perhaps a Pangolin, a miniature Camarasaurus, or something like that.

Based on What?: This is important to note when it comes to writing races. According to the SC2 retrospect made by JimPlaysGames, the aliens in science-fiction are based on certain parts of humanity rather than being an accurate representation on what extra-terrestrial would be like. Go watch his video is you want to learn more.

From the article, I believe that the Snellopy are based on people who stopped trying after what they did failed miserably, or simply a representation of worrywarts. Case and point, they learned of the Kohr-Ah and tried to warn everyone about it, but no one believed them. Instead of the Snellopy putting their foot down and explain why it should be taken seriously, they gave up and refused to talk to anyone. Them worrying came from thier sensitivity and they were constantly concerned on what is going to happen, rather than dealing with the events happening now.

As I said, there are the basic notes that I thought of, and anyone can do anything with the info, since none of it is settled yet. Feel free to discuss.

I'm not sure how it occurred that I didn't put up my further notes on the race...

I called them the Shlthuk.

Physical description: They're roughly spherical, and covered in long bladelike metallic fur that's black on one side and reflective on the other - both for temperature regulation in a super-arid environment and radiation resistance. They move by shifting their weight and rolling. They have arms that fold up flush to their bodies. These are metallic as well, extruded from their fleshy interior. Their eyes are held on the inside, and gain views to the outsides by arranging the reflective sides of their fur appropriately. They do not use artificial gravity in their ships.

In terms of what they're based on, I'd say they're paranoid. Not like the Spathi, who jump at shadows but largely can deal with each other. The Shlthuk intentionally limit the information they share - even with each other - so as to minimize the consequences if any of them is caught. Layer upon layer of defenses, informational and physical.

Based on what I've been working on, if you can remember from SC2 a minor race known as the "Gg" were wiped out by the Khor-Ah. However, around 1,000 of the Gg were in insterstellar travel and survived hiding among the Utwig and Druuge, facing particuarly hard lives with the Druuge, and because they were running away from the Khor-Ah they became known as the fleeing race.

At this point we're getting too many races really, there can't be 20 more races added because it will make the storyline too complex and the project has little resources in terms of programming. So if you're going to submit a race, put a LOT of thought into how they can logically fit in, because the wiki page is already jam pact with information. There's also a second wiki page being constructed that gives an alternate history to every race and the entire SC2 series.

What about historically? Much like the Gg or Burvixese references in SC2.

Hello GBAura,

It seems I forgot to welcome you to the story team when I was in the middle of finishing my masters. It was a crazy time!
So let me extend a warm welcome now - even if it's so late - and please do not hesitate to add your ideas and comments on the story wiki.
I'll add these to the proper sections on the fleeing race.

Why don't we set up like a meeting time? Who lives in the Mexico, US or Canada?

I live in Canada, in GMT -5 (Eastern Standard Time).
And by the way, I have a pandorian world account with up to 10 attached unlimited account for group meetings with simultaneous webcam & sound.
It's just a question of actually finding the time for enough people to be worth it.

Anybody interested?

I'm also on EST (I live near Philadelphia), and aside from work, my schedule's pretty wide open.  I wouldn't be opposed to attending an online meeting, though if there is a meeting, I think we should agree on a few plot lines/story elements/topics that we'll need to discuss at the meeting beforehand.
