Perhaps the XenWeyi were once very industrialistic and nearly turned their
atmo into smog, so they were forced to make the plants to save themselves.
This could reflect in their current outlook, being a tad too cautious and
paranoid, but still grateful you busted them outa 'jail.' Also, to make up
for their lack of plot value, make their ships powerful battleships or
something, desirable, if you will.

I think masters of ecology could have sprung up from a different origin:

What if the gravity on their home planet was many times that of Earth
normal which prevented vegetation to progress past the grassland and bush
stage. Since 'trees' would have collapsed under their own weight, there
was limited chances for photosynthesis returning oxygen to the environment.

With the increase gravity causing more fossil fuels to be developed over
millions of years (increased gravity = increased pressure), the XenWeyi
were forced to embrace biotechnology and ecology early on in their
developmental growth (comparable to when we were using steam engines on
ships and trains) and so their organic based technology is far in advance
compared to their other abilities.

Further to my spitballing above, this would lead to a multiple lower
extremities with a central squat body, dense bone structure, and partial
resistance to high gravity, maybe a lander modification needed to get
something relevant to the story, or since the Exotics are able to
manipulate a partial immunity to their effects that is central to
approaching their mothership/endboss.

Maybe they're related to the Supox?

Well if the existing content about them is right, they're not.

If we're going to talk about terraforming, why not consider this tech some
kind of Mycon leftover or offshoot? Don't forget, the Syreen lost their
home to Mycon terraform. Perhaps something that the Syreen were looking
into with the hopes of restoring their beloved Syra?

Perhaps, as an alternative option, we could trick the crazy Chmmr into
re-slave shielding the Xen Weyi?

The Chmmr use the shield technology as an istrument for punishment. If the
Chmmr can be convinced that the Xen-Weyi "deserve" a shield above them,
then it's a viable option.

@jaakko - i also would like to see some more races in Project 6014 even if
some of them turn out to be mentioned only like the Faz , Taalo, or
Burvixese. Making the Xen-Weyi a mentioned only race with a Artifact/
Device on there planet would be similar to the Taalo and there Mind sheild
or even the Burvixese and there Hyperwave caster. Im not sure about the Faz
though to my knowldge they were only Mentioned only in Star control II and
did not have a Device. Is it possible that the Fax were located on the new
map regions in Project 6014 much like the Mmrnhrmm were located in this
region according to game lore?

@krathko - Giving the Xen-Weyi fighting ships in this game is a fun idea i
like it sounds good. But here is the catch giving them a ship would mean
that 5 more ship slots would have to be created in for the Super Melee
mode. Would it still be possible to had 5 more ships into this game or not?
If not i still love the idea of just having more mentioned only races as i
discussed above with Jaakko.

@krathko - I think that if 5 more ships had to be created the game creature
could come up with the ships for the Faz , the Xen-Weyi , and add the
Millennium falcon , X-wing and maybee also Maybe the Yuptar or like the Faz
any other one of the Sentient Milieu members that might be located on the
new areas of the map. But like i said im still not sure if adding 5 more
slots for new ships is possble id rather just keep it as is with only the
new 4 ships in game and the ISD from star wars for the fun of it.

@ ariel.a and Jaakko.M - having extra stuff in the game that has something
to do with both the Supox and the Shofixti both sound like good ideas.
Right now there is not that much of the Supox in the game Jaakko and i
think that that would add to the flavor nicely. and i agree with Ariel as
well because helping to slow down that population explosion stuff might
slow down , or stop the Shofixt war in the demo game which seem to kill off
the shofixti much sooner than the next Kohr-Ah death march. I know that
there already is alot of the Shofixti in the game but i say ariel has a
point why not be able to at least slow or delay the Kishi bojin war much
like you could slow down the Kohr-Ah death march in the last game?
