Expected Outcomes: AASL would like for an Emerging Leader team to develop a
"plug and play module" for AASL and AASL state affiliates to use for reaching out to
non-member professionals. This module may include step-by-step recommendations
for analyzing current membership at the national and state level with an action plan
for marketing membership to library media specialists, who are not members. The target
audience would be library students and library media specialists who are not currently
members.
Ok - from my perspective, it appears that we need to create something that AASL and AASL state affiliates can use to market membership to non-members. However, the assignment discusses ways in which they can analyze current membership and an action plan for marketing membership. Will our website be for AASL and AASL affiliates to use as a tool to increase membership? As far as a website goes, who will maintain it once we're through with Chicago? I think that it's purpose should be to guide AASL and affiliates to the resources that they need and that they can take information from it and make it their own.
