Hi,
Project Watershed will be at Earth Day
again this year. We are working with Comox Valley Land Trust, Comox
Valley
Conservation Strategy and the Tsolum River Restoration Society to build
a mock
riparian area (a stream) for adults and children to walk/swim along
while
learning about this important habitat type. The main activity will be
for
children to color a fish and take it on a journey along the stream
which has
hazards such as a roving bear who wants to eat the fish! Our booth will
also
have streamside sounds, information and fundraising materials. We need
people
to help build this interactive display and to help run it. We will be
designing
the display Wednesday the 14th of April from 12:30pm to
2:30pm – if
you can’t make it but want to help out there are lots of tasks that can
be done
at your convenience. Then we will need volunteers to take 2 hour shifts
at the
display on Earth Day April 24th between 9am and 5pm. If you
are
interested in all or any of this call Caila @ (250) 703-2871 or email volu...@projectwatershed.bc.ca.
Cheers,
Caila
p.s. If you can't participate in this event please cross your fingers
for great weather!
