Title: Cloud Architect (hybrid: 3 days/week onsite)

Must-have skills:

EDU : BS/equiv exp

2+ y exp as an Azure Architect

5+ y of IT experience

AWS or GCP

PREFERRED :

2 - 3 years of exp with ESRI GIS,*

.Net application development in a DevOps environment,

Microsoft Azure certification is highly desired,

exp with API Management, IT Service Automation tools,

Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu), Azure DevOps.

 

Location: Tallahassee, FL
Client: Florida Department of Transportation - FDOT (Tallahassee)

Remote or onsite: Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite.

Type: long-term contract
Duration:12+ months with possible extensions

Additional information: The candidate should be able to provide an ID if the interview is requested, to guarantee the Client that the candidate submitted, interviewing and showing up for work is one and the same

 

Requirements:
• Availability to work 3 days per week on the Client’s site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Architecture (2-3 years);
• Experience in information systems engineering or another related field (5-8+ years);
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture (2-3 years);
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Services;
• Experience with Microsoft Server products;
• Experience with Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu);
• Experience with .Net application development in a DevOps environment (highly preferred);
• Experience in administration of ESRI GIS software (highly preferred, 2-3 years);
• Experience with other cloud providers, such as AWS or GCP (highly preferred, 2-3 years);
• Experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services (highly preferred, 5+ years);
• Microsoft Azure certification (highly preferred);
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or another related field (4 years of experience can substitute for education).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment;
• Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions;
• Understand, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure cloud services;
• Resolve production release issues across business and technology teams, as well as broader strategic or systemic issues that are creating inefficiencies or hindering progress;
• Enhance application and system monitoring solutions to ensure the right staff get the right alerts;
• Automate processes wherever possible;
• Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines;
• Troubleshoot development issues brought forth by developers and other architects;
• Present to your peers findings of new technologies, enterprise-wide issues, and enhancements you have made to better the mission.
