Top skills:
- Strong Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) experience – specifically, from both a technical & operations side: cost analysis, cost optimization, forecasting, etc.
- This Engineer will be leading this effort, working with other BUs, suggesting changes, and getting everyone's buy-in for FinOps
- Multi/hybrid cloud environment experience – must have strong AWS & Azure exposure
- Enterprise-level / global environment experience
About the role: This resource will be joining the Cloud Center of Excellence Operations team which manages the corporate cloud for the company. They are in the process of building out their Cloud FinOps team which will help the overall initiative to modernization their cloud offerings. They will have the opportunity to help create their overall FinOps structure as well as work directly with Business Leaders across the BUs to educate them on the benefits of FinOps.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Cost Management or Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) in multi-cloud environments
- understanding of Cloud and infrastructure services (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, multi-cloud architecture, and cloud networking)
- Hands-on experience in Cloudability tool
- Extensive experience analyzing and forecasting technical cloud hosting costs to provide cost optimization reports
- Experience working with data in SQL Databases
- Python & SQL scripting experience
- Excellent communication skills with ability to work across Global teams including Cloud Services, Finance, business leaders/customers
Preferred Skills:
- FinOps Certified Practitioner
Responsibilities:
- Promote FinOps Culture: Advocate for FinOps practices across the business units & educate finance and management stakeholders on cloud technology.
- Cost Visibility and Reporting: Identify and recommend cost optimization opportunities & Conduct cost optimization workshops
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and with business unit partners and work closely with cloud vendors.
- Take ownership of FinOps cost tools (Cloudability): Develop capacity reservation policies, explore technical solutions to support FinOps, and advise on cost-effective architectures.
- Budget Support: Assist in budget processes, perform deep-dive cost analysis and create custom reports.
