Job Title: Data Center Project Manager ll

Work Location: Fremont, CA OR VIRGINIA (Onsite)

Duration : Fulltime Position


Must have - Datacenter ,Wiring/ Cable, Hvac, Project management, mapping, Electrical background

 

Responsibilities:

 

•           Read, understand, and markup data center layouts, electrical drawings, line diagrams, and Architectural plan sets.

•           Quickly become acquainted with the project scope of work, budgets, construction schedules, system designs, and how they drive your project’s needs.

•           Coordinate the relevant resources for your project by utilizing internal teams (Sales, Sales Operations, Logistics, Engineering).

•           Generate and manage the internal project schedule, communicate changes with appropriate teams and adjust resources accordingly.

•           Obtain site progress reports from field teams, identify issues, and update internal and external teams on status and action items.

•           Facilitate client’s sign off with foremen, tech leads, and engineering as necessary.

•           Initiate notifications for billable customer change orders with Sales.

•           Ensure delivery and labor resource scheduling based on receipt of project material lead times, updates and order summary reports delivered by Sales Operations.

•           Create, maintain and distribute project documentation through internal tools.

•           Travel to various job sites to meet with clients, attend meetings, and expedite the resolution of escalated issues.

•           Resolve all project team questions in a timely manner, delegating, or escalating as necessary.

•           Conduct project post-mortems and provide lessons learned documentation for Services and Sales teams..

•           Ensure post-installation documentation is delivered to the customer, for example, user-acceptance tests, sign-offs, inventories, and ‘as-built’ drawings and schematics.

•           Play a proactive role in the shaping, review and improvement of workflows, internal processes and procedures to support project and service delivery.

•           Strong applicants should be proven leaders, personable, dependable, self-motivated, and strong critical thinkers.

 

Qualifications:

 

•           >2 years demonstrated project related experience

•           Proven management of data center white space fit out projects

•           Understanding of electrical, cabling and terminology and principles

•           PMP Practitioner or expertise in other similar types of methodologies

•           Understand system functionality and installation processes and techniques

•           Comprehension of technical schematics and construction documents (plan sets, symbols, Line Diagrams, Gantt charts).

•           Experience with construction work permitting processes

•           Familiarity with regional code compliance for low voltage, electrical, structural and fire alarm system installations.

•           Subcontractor management experience.

•           Demonstrate time management skills with attention to detail.

•           Provide labor estimates or quotes for defined project scopes.

•           Effective verbal and written communication with clients, colleagues, and employees; including meeting notes, and action items.

•           Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and teams.

•           Superb coordination and delegation ability – ensure teams are successful without attempting to do everything themselves.

•           Clean driving license valid in the US.

•           Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.

•           Proficient in: Google Suite, Oracle Netsuite, Monday.com, Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, Acrobat, Bluebeam, and other web-based tools.

•           Travel throughout the U.S. is required.

•           Full Clean Drivers License is essential for the fulfillment of your duties

 

Desirable:

 

•           CDCM or CDCP certified

•           Knowledge and understanding of trade standards and codes

•           Other IT/Networking/Data Center Experience

•           First aid, CPR or other safety training completed

•           Any other current IT/Networking/Data Center certifications

•           ITIL Foundation or similar qualification

•           3+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in the construction or technology industries is strongly preferred

•           Netsuite project management

•           Data center field experience

•           Service delivery management experience

•           A 2nd language is desirable

 

Technical Competencies:

 

Planning and Scheduling

•           Review existing plans and provide dynamic updates, and can coordinate schedules with multiple teams on a single project.

•           Individual can articulate plan changes as they occur to key stakeholders without guidance from leadership.

Customer Engagement

•           Individual executes projects with direct customer engagement and can communicate activities with blended customer, subcontractor and partner resources.

•           Establish ground rules and communication protocols to ensure stakeholder voice, avoid duplication and ensure effective, unified communications.

Risk Management

•           Individual can foresee risks to a schedule or budget and create a remediation list of activities in partnership with the customer and internal teams, including detailed steps to eliminate the risk to the project and communication requirements to key stakeholders.

Budgeting

•           Individual can manage the alignment to the financial requirements for a project, including budgeting and margin calculations for overall financial performance and profitability.

Discipline

•           Individual has experience with at least two trade disciplines associated to the types of projects they manage.

•           Individual can communicate with project stakeholders on discipline requirements, expectations and technology behaviors.
