Job Description
Year of experience – 10+
As a Machine Learning Engineer Lead, you’ll develop machine learning platform solutions for machine learning operations and deployment. You will use data focused software engineering and languages like Python. These contractors solve problems with techniques you may need to research, learn and implement. You’ll use your strong technical and communication skills, as well as proven experience in developing and deploying the machine learning production solutions. You will build and deploy these solutions leveraging cloud services and resources from cloud providers and tools like DominoLab, Databricks, or Spark. In this role, knowledge of differences in the SDLC for machine learning driven products is important. This team is building the Machine Learning deployment platform to enable data scientists and analysts to build, deploy, and monitor their machine learning models.
Responsibilities:
· Transfer, optimize, and implement algorithms that Data Scientist developed in sandbox into production while addressing the challenges of complexity
· Design, build, and support complex machine learning pipelines. Write production machine learning pipelines for in-house developed algorithms
· Build our platforms, systems and infrastructure using your background in distributed systems and large-scale storage systems
· Continuous Integration and Deployment. Implement multi-stage CI/CD pipelines preferably in GitLab with automated deployments.
· Develop systems, tools, & processes to monitor ML models in production, monitoring drift and performance
· Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise
· Work closely with ML Engineers to advise on implementation
· Recommend and drive architecture/infrastructure to create actionable, meaningful, and scalable solutions for business problems
· Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot machine learning infrastructure
Preferred skills
· Docker practitioner. Demonstrable familiarity with containerized orchestration and virtualization frameworks. Experience with a Kubernetes package manager such as Helm a plus.
· Software engineering (Version Control) and associated best practices
· Advanced programming experience in programming languages used in analytics and data science (e.g. Python, Java, Scala). Comfortable with Linux environments and shell scripting.
· Experience with Cloud-based infrastructures (AWS or Azure) and infrastructure as code (SageMaker, S3, Dynamo, Redshift)
· Understanding of machine learning algorithms
· Design and evaluated approaches to high volume real-time data streams
· Foundation in computer science, system architecture, statistical/quantitative modeling with ability to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data
· Distributed Systems Know-How. Designing, deploying, and troubleshooting distributed systems
· Interface Savvy. Creating and interacting with RESTful HTTPS API's, websockets, and webhooks
· DevOps experience. You enjoy DevOps. You've had some experience monitoring and maintaining mission critical systems and services with uptime requirements.
