Job description
Help facilitate scrum ceremonies for agile teams (Sprint Planning/Backlog Grooming/Reviews/Retrospectives). Support Product team in moving along backlog items and new items coming through the pipeline and to support scrum teams by removing roadblocks and guiding the team to achieve goals..
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Fosters Agile values and practices to support an IT Scrum Team.
• Ensures team adherence to Agile principles. Assists with coaching a Scrum Team on how to execute the Scrum framework.
• Experiments with processes and tools that encourage continuous improvement to optimize velocity and quality while mitigating risk.
• Works in partnership with other senior scrum masters to protect the team from outside influences to ensure the team remains focused on Scrum Team priorities.
• Partners with the Product Owner to ensure the backlog items are prioritized based on business value.
• Utilize tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Researching and implementing industry best practices and other duties as assigned
Must have Skills
• 10+ years of experience in IT and minimum 5 years scrum master role exp.
• Should have Agile experience/knowledge of key agile techniques including SAFe 4.0 Value Streams, Kanban, Lean, XP, and Scrum
• Experience with PI/PSI planning and other SAFe and/or Disciplined Agile Development (DAD) ceremonies
• Experience leading Agile Scrum teams/servicing as a Scrum Master
• Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
• Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team
• Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous burn-down techniques, numerous retrospective formats, handling bugs etc.)
• Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc)
• Good skills and knowledge, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
• Foundational knowledge of Scrum Master tool-set (Jira, Confluence, Zoom, etc.)
• Foundational knowledge of Agile principles and ability to apply them in day to day delivery; Optional Agile certification acquired (CSM, CSPO, etc.)
