Position: Software Engineer (Java and Spring Boot)
Location: Remote
Duration: 9 Months
Client: CenturyLink Technology Solutions
Rate: $63/Hr. on C2C
Notes:
- We’re looking for Sr. API Developers proficient in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot (no UI work but that experience couldn’t hurt as you never know down the road).
- Deep understanding of the fundamentals of API Security
- Knowledge of TMF standard API or TM Forum's Open API program is a huge plus
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins is a plus
- Tech stack includes Java version 11, Spring, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, JavaScript, Node.js, and Mongo
- Team provides the backend APIs that integrate with many of the Edge Value Stream products
Required Skills

Additional Skills

Job Description:
The Sr. Software Engineer will be engaged in requirements analysis/review, design, coding, testing, and deployment. The engineer should be able to apply existing technologies and introduce new ones to develop solutions to business problems. The engineer should be able to lead other team members in the application of principles, theories, and concepts, use of existing methodologies, tools, documentation processes, and test procedures to improve quality and finish projects. Good team spirit and attitude to get the right things done is a must, together with strong written and verbal communication skills.
The Main Responsibilities
- Partner in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment to be able to design, develop, code, test, and deploy software.
- Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and required ceremonies to plan, track, and code development tasks.
- Work closely with business partners and technical staff to create technical solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Coordinate and partner with business teams and other IT teams inside and outside of the organization to identify and manage dependencies and deliverables, meeting client expectations.
- Translate simple to complex user stories into functional and actionable software.
- Focus on automation and continuous delivery {Cl/CD) to deliver code to test and production.
- Estimates timeline for assigned tasks and ensure that work is completed with the estimate given.
- Takes a lead role in establishing and implementing standards that will facilitate a quality IT deliverable.
- Provide support for business user's questions, problem resolutions, and research requests.
What We Look for in a Candidate
- Typically, 8+ years of professional experience in software development with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Operational experience with the development and deployment of large-scale systems.
- Extensive experience in the following programming languages/technologies: Java, Microservices, Spring, SpringBoot, REST APIs, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong Object-Oriented Design Pattern skills and working across teams with dependencies and service-level contracts.
- Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git.
- Strong people skills--Effective communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- A self-starter and can-do attitude are a must in a fast-moving business and technical environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, time management skills, and verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
- Familiarity within Communications industry and/or SaaS products is a plus.
- Automation/CI-CD tools including Maven / Jenkins/ GoCD.
- Experience with developing NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra/DataStax.
- Exposure to SonarQube or other static code analysis tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of TMF standard API or TM Forum's Open API program
