JOB DESCRIPTION
OMS Solution Architect - BSS
Summary
Designs and develops BSS solution architecture based on business requirements, works with vendor partner to review solution and ensure delivery of solution.
Identifies and drives issues through closure. Monitors technical and engineering progress to ensure on time delivery.
Architect must have 10+ years’ experience in Telecom BSS specifically on Order Management. In OMS the architect must have an excellent knowledge of ordering business processes – order to activate, order decomposition and orchestration, order workflow management, order status and tracking, order persistence, order fallout management. The person should understand ordering domain both functionally and technically to be able to drive effective solutions. Experience in Amdocs OMS is important.
Architect must have experience is working with API’s for integration. Most API’s are in rest & soap and the architect must have hands on experience with these API’s to interact with different development teams.
Experience in other BSS/OSS areas such as Billing, Product Catalogue, CRM and integration with OMS would be an added advantage. Experience in BPMN based workflow engines would be an added advantage.
Core Responsibilities
- Architects solutions to satisfy business and product needs in near and long term timelines.
- Interfaces with other Architects and other teams owning different functional areas to ensure that most efficient solution is designed to meet business needs; ensures timelines are met.
- Develop, documents, and ensures compliance with best practices including but not limited to the following: coding standards, object-oriented design, platform and framework specific design concerns, and human interface guidelines.
- Tracks and documents requirements for enterprise development projects and enhancements.
- Influences design and development strategies. Contributes to software design reviews.
- Contributes for review of Test Strategy and Test case design
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of architecture team processes and standards.
- Gathers and understands Product needs, finding key areas where technology leverage is possible to improve business process; defines architectural approaches and develops technology proofs. Communicates technology direction.
- Monitors the project lifecycle from intake through delivery and into production operations.
