Title: Linux System Administrator V

Location: Owings Mills, MD (Must be onsite Day 1 and adhere to the hybrid model 3 days onsite/2 days remote)

Visa: USC, GC

(Must have strong and recent Solaris experience.)

Responsibilities:

The individual will be responsible for supporting patching efforts on Solaris systems, Exadata / Super Cluster, and addressing security vulnerabilities.

The individual will also be responsible for working on service now request tickets entered by our customers.

Responsibilities will also include managing vendor support requests, coordinating service outages, and keeping internal teams and customers up to date with change requests.

 

Capability:

The individual should have multiple years of experience administering UNIX systems (ideally Solaris and Linux).

Experience working with Exadata and ZFS appliances is desired.

The individual should be familiar with server clustering, storage multi-pathing, general OS administration, shell scripting, and familiarity with VMware products.

The candidate should have worked with vendors before on break/fix issues for servers, understand how to backup and restore systems, and generally be familiar with low level system access points like iLOM, iDRAC, system controllers, etc...

 

Outcome & Benefits:

The contingent worker fulfilling this role will provide staff bandwidth to the MTS Infrastructure team focusing primarily on the support of Solaris based systems (Ex. HiNet, Trading, Vision), Exadata / Super Cluster, and patching / security vulnerability remediation.

The resource will also provide some support for the VxRail systems.

The primary benefit to TRP is having skilled staff working for us that can satisfy customer requests and provide ongoing maintenance support for the systems that support key applications.
