Log annotations (e.g. @Slf4j) can not be used in interfaces

I'm wondering, why log annotations (like @Slf4j) can not be used in interfaces.

It can be done with pure java, reason for this is when implementing default method and want to log something.

Would be nice, if this feature would be supported.

Any thoughs/comments on this issue would be appriciated.
