For the record, when are we meeting next? I have not seen anything
posted of late, so I do not know when/where we are meeting
next...considering we usually meet on Saturdays. I don't know how
great this weekend is to be meeting, since it is Easter weekend,
however I just was wondering.

Thanks

Team,

Our next meeting will be contingent upon us having priced and sourced materials as well as getting a design firmly laid out on paper.  So…

Engineering, how are we doing on price quotes?

Design, how is ACAD coming?  I haven’t heard anything since I sent the fix instructions…

Let me know.

Ryan

Ok,

So for Engineering, we have the price of two GCI- 2k inverters and one
GL-PMG-3500 generator; a total of 3590 USD (1690 for the generator,
950 each for the inverters). These are from Ginlong. If anyone has
found better priced items let's hear it.

I'm really excited to see some CAD plans for this turbine. Have we
gotten that program to work for Andrew? Or what?

Cheers,

Iwo

AJ and i were working on making a turbine design using the old auto-cad system. the trick is, we didnt know what exactly the plan/hard numbers were. So, we made them up. the design is definitely changeable, and we assumed we were using Iwo's Ginlong generators. I'll bug AJ to bring a printed copy(s) to the meeting so yall can see it.

By the way, I have not found any better inverters than the Ginlong ones, and since we have been using those for the design i havnt really tried either. It seems that they would fit with the design, with some slight changes, but ill keep hunting.

Looking forward to Saturday!

-Zach

So we're meeting Saturday then? I'm good for that!

I'm excited to hear the progress on the turbine. I've done some
research into the little things we can do around the building, so we
can talk about that on Saturday as well.

Cya then!

So this saturday at 8:00 am at Panera? Or are we meeting somewhere

Nothing's been stated on when we're meeting, as Ryan said...I
appologize, it seems we've had a slight issue in communication and
I've been mostly dealing with the rigging and getting that all set
up...since that's now not the case, I need to figure out fully how to
get the turbine drawn up, which is probably going to be about three
times as difficult, so I'll get on that ASAP...

ACAD IS up and running, so I should be able to crank something
out...and as it turns out the piece of paper I brought back home from
the meeting was considered trash paper by my parents and in cleaning
the house threw it out, so I'll attempt at this again...memory might
or might not get this worked out, we'll see what happens. I'll have
some stuff up.

Crew,

It sounds like we’ve got enough to run on.  What I might suggest is that we throw the 3.5kw Gen set on with only 1 2kw inverter for the time being.  The inverter should have a load shed option on it and I can scale it up to 4kw in future years.  This also knocks $950 off the quote…saving us some room for doing what we have to.  I am also facing a bit of a budget crunch due to our new purchase in Little Italy.  I’ll send another email to confirm that my Saturday morning schedule is free.

Thanks,

Ryan

There's a recycling thing for environmental science tomorrow morning...

Okay, Zach and I have been working on the turbine design and we
officially have a breakthrough. Basically, we have a 24.75" long arc
spanning a horizontal distance of 23", creating a wind catcher scoop-
esque design thing. From the top of the turbine, the bottom is
connected about 45 degrees further around the axel, creating a slight
bend in the vertical portion of the fin. Further details will be
shown either tomorrow or at the next meeting. Also, I am attaching
the basic non-dimensioned design from ACAD into the files section.
You need a viewing program if not ACAD to view it, so sorry if you
cant, I'll attempt to convert it to a JPEG so everyone can get a
picture of it...hope it's decent. I'll have it all dimensioned by the
next meeting, and Zach and myself are working on making a model out of
copper wire, paper, and tape...might or might not work, we'll see how
it goes.

-Zach and I are both good for tomorrow, I realize we got some people
with a recycling thing for environmental science tomorrow, so
basically it'll sit in my house taking up 8' until then. Cheers.
