The Cypress project website has been updated.

The new Cypress project site provides additional information detailing upcoming software release plans, better integration with the Jira tracking system, and more transparency with the Cypress project's timeline of past and future collaboration events.

Cypress v2.3, currently scheduled for release next Thursday June 27th, will include support for the annual Eligible Professional clinical quality measure update that was recently published on the CMS site.  The Cypress v2.3 test patient data was adjusted accordingly to meet basic testing and certification standards.  Also included in Cypress v2.3 will be automated  QRDA Category I XML analysis to validate of QRDA Category I XML tests.  Additional clinical code validation of code selection choices against clinical quality measure value sets will be introduced, and Cypress v2.3 will limiting HTML test files to only data relevant to clinical quality measure certifying data (aka “HTML Scoop and Filter”).

When Cypress v2.3 is released, users will be able to select the version of the measure that you want to use when you create test in Cypress if you install all the old Cypress "bundles".  You should not need to maintain older versions of Cypress after the release of v2.3 to test older measures.  After the release of Cypress v2.3, the options to the Cypress user on measures will be:
  • The January release (v2.1) with the original version of the EP and EH CQMs
  • The April release with the updated EH CQMs (v2.2)
  • The June release with the updated EP CQMs (v2.3)
When testing with the latest version 2.3 of the measures, this visual/manual checklist has been eliminated and has been replaced with automated software to fully grade the QRDA Category 1 XML to detect "false positive".  However, when ATLs test EHR using Cypress v2.3 against older versions of the measures, they will have to use the visual/manual checklist to detect false positives with older versions of the measures and the QRDA Category 1 XML tests.  This is consistent with the behavior of the older versions of Cypress.
