Hi All,
We hope you’re having a safe and enjoyable wrap-up to the year. The year end holiday season is in full swing. As we close out the year, we wanted to leave you with a few things.
Coming out of KubeCon North America 2022, we wanted to highlight a few sessions that we found particularly interesting and relevant for Contour users:
Protecting Envoy: Overload Manager by Kevin Baichoo, Google. The latest Contour release added support for this Envoy feature, so this is a great lightning talk to check out if you’re interested in using it via Contour. Also see the Contour overload manager docs for more information.
Exiting Ingress with the Gateway API by Rob Scott, Google and Shane Utt, Kong. This talk gives a great overview of the current state of Gateway API, and uses Contour as an example implementation! See the Contour Gateway API guide for more information on getting started with Gateway API in Contour.
Serverless Functions at the Edge with Knative and K3s by Sergio Méndez, Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. This talk demonstrates using Contour with Knative in an edge computing environment on Raspberry Pis.
We are also still looking to get more folks involved with the development of Contour. If that is something of interest to you, please let us know.
Thanks,
The Contour maintainers
