to Project Canasta
Hi everyone,

If you're wondering whether there will be a meeting tomorrow: I have decided to end the weekly Project Canasta meetings. That's due to a few factors, including declining attendance and my general feeling that we have now talked about the details enough, and that it's now time for some real development. I'm more comfortable doing development among a small group of colleagues, rather than in a large group of volunteers where getting consensus is always important (and tricky), so I've decided to take the remaining development of this product "in-house" to my consulting company, WikiWorks. We hope to release something tangible soon! That includes coming up with a name for the product (it probably won't be "Canasta").

Thanks to everyone who participated - especially Lex, whose "MWStake MediaWiki Manager" is at this point more than just a proof of concept. But a lot of people provided a lot of important insights, and feedback. I may well ask for more feedback later, but it will probably be in the form of emails to this list, rather than conference calls - though it's fun to talk to everyone directly, I think emails are a more efficient medium for talking about technical details than big meetings. And of course, everyone else should feel free to use this mailing list as well. For that matter, if anyone wants to run their own meeting with this group of people, feel free.

-Yaron
