Events Manager is a plugin for WordPress which enables you to publish event, locations and calendars as well as accepting bookings for these events. Events Manager started as a labor of love and has been available for free since 2008 on the wordpress.org repo, and in 2011 we released a Pro add-on which is now funding further development.

More on our history...

Maybe I should describe what I would like to accomplish. I would like to use the data provided by Events Manager to make a custom design using loopers. The only problem is providing the column with the url of the event. I can retrieve the url by this shortcode [events_list limit="1" location="1"#_EVENTURL[/events_list] but I cannot use a shortcode in the url-field.

Event managers plan and organise promotional, business and social events. They're responsible for running a range of events, ensuring the target audience is engaged and the message of the event is marketed properly. Events play a huge part in the success of a brand or an organisation.

You'll manage the whole process from the planning stage, right through to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation. The role is primarily hands-on and often involves working as part of a team.

Although you don't need a specific degree subject to become an event manager, a degree or HND in event management, hotel or catering management, leisure and tourism, marketing or business may be useful. Employers are much more interested in your skills, personal qualities and experience in the industry.

You don't need a degree to become an events manager and you can work your way up from an assistant position, gaining experience as you progress. It may be useful to take the Level 2 Certificate in Event Planning, although not essential.

Relevant experience, either paid or voluntary, and knowledge of the industry is essential to enter this competitive field. Some degree courses have an optional year in industry, and this can be a great way of developing relevant experience and making industry contacts.

Make the most of your time at university by organising events for a student society or for charities or other organisations and clubs you have links with. Experience in the hospitality industry or in a sales, marketing or customer service role is also useful.

As a new event manager, you'll typically develop your skills and knowledge by working alongside more experienced colleagues. Opportunities for training depend on your employer and may include short courses, run either in-house or externally. Sessions covered typically include:

Promotion may involve moving from an assistant post to team leader, which may include managing a small team, and then on to the role of manager, then senior manager or director. With experience you can take on responsibility for large-scale events, which are more complex to manage, involve high-profile clients and include bigger budgets.

As of Events Calendar Pro version 5.9.0, you can add, delete, and edit your events in a few different ways. You can either use the Events Manager to handle all of your events, use the standard list table, or use the Add Event single event option in the classic or block editor.

If you are using Events Calendar Pro, you may still prefer this way of editing your events instead. You can navigate to this view from the Events Manager by clicking on List next to Add New.

Alternatively, you can add a new event by navigating to Events > Add New in the WordPress Dashboard or by hovering over New > Event in the top toolbar when logged in.

This MQSQ is designed to obtain specific information regarding an applicant's experience in relation to the Minimum Qualifications (MQ) for this position. The MQSQ will be used to evaluate if the applicant possesses the required minimum qualifications.

Please note: this examination is only held in San Francisco. This is a standardized examination, and, therefore, test questions and answers are not available for public inspection or review.

The score you achieve on this examination shall be valid and 'banked' for three years, starting from the date of the examination. This means that, during this three-year time period, you will not be required to take any test components for which you have already attained a score. If the selection process for the future announcement is held within one year of the date of this examination, your score will be automatically applied to that announcement. However, after one year, you have the option to either (a) apply your test score(s) to the other announcement or (b) re-take the test component(s). Re-testing is permitted no sooner than one year from the date of the examination and only in association with your eligibility for another announcement for which the test component is used. Please note that, should you re-test, your re-test score would become your official score since it is the most recent.

Supplemental Questionnaire Evaluation: (Weight: 60%). Qualified candidates with a passing score on the Written Core Examination will be sent a link to complete an online Supplemental Questionnaire. Applicant information, including names of applicants on the eligible list, shall not be made public unless required by law. However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request, once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g., as a result of appeals), as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.
