Just got a new MacBook M1Max preloaded with Logic Pro. I have an older UR22 that Im having trouble getting to work with Logic Pro. I think Ive got the drivers installed however there are no controls available in the sound window, although it does "see" UR22. I was able to record a track with it but it doesn't sound great. Will not playback through ur22 and monitors. Is there an audio interface that is completely compatible with M1 Max Monterey? is it possible to get the ur22 working properly?
If the changelogs and official alsa wiki do not provide enough information, and it looks like that, you should ask on the alsa user or developer mailing list, they would know best. The patch/support seems unfinished however.
If you want to demand something from a manufacturer, you better have people behind you. Write a petition or bring people together in other ways, then write/send [the petition] to both Steinberg and Yamaha with all the signatures. Also contacting alsa developers might raise the indirect pressure. Remember to always be polite.
I had found a way to use that card in Linux via this guide but it didn't work for Arch as it is, only for Ubuntu-based distributions. Because I don't know how to tweak it to work for Arch I've switched to Linux Mint 17 KDE. I hope someone with knowledge can figure it out
From within that distro you might query the system and find which module(s) (snd-usb-audio I think) are loader and which configuration are set.
You may try to copy it into Arch and see if it work.
Probably the patch is done, see this
So what says, in your Arch
Hey, so how do you make ur22 (ur44) work in arch in 2016?
Sorry, I'm an arch newbie. And most of my linux didn't even have a desktop environment.
I installed gnome, but in audio devices I don't see my Steinberg.
